The Presidency has denied reports of President Muhammadu Buhari’s involvement in the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, and Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, investigation on Senate President Burkola Saraki.
Senior Special Assistants to the President on Media, Garba Shehu stated this in Abuja on Sunday while fielding questions from newsmen.
He stressed that the institutions were independent and take no instructions from any quarters.
Shehu further maintained that they were set by the constitution to determine default, false declaration or forgery in assets declaration.
He however, challenged the parties involved to follow judicial processes to prove their innocence.
The tribunal is seeking Saraki’s trial for alleged false declaration of assets as the Governor of Kwara State from 2003-2011.
