Two-year-old Mary Shantel was wounded by a stray bullet as opposition protests against a presidential vote re-run raged on in Kenya.
According to her mother, Lydia Kageha, she was playing outside the house with her friends when she fell in pain. The child was then immediately transferred to a hospital where a doctor removed a bullet lodged in her shoulder.
The incident took place in Kisumu, where another child, a boy was shot dead in the violence a day before.
